Basic Magnesium 101 VO660 c/n 64250, b/d 4/1942 - built for the Defense Plant Corp., as Basic Magnesium 101, for switching the Basic Magnesium plant Henderson, NV (maybe renumbered 1000) - following the plant closure at end of the war, sold (or leased) to the contractor General Shea Pacific Co. as #1000 [6] used to construct the Eagle Mountain Mine RR - used by General-Shea-Morrison Co. of Seattle, WA. (the consortium of companies hired to built the Hungry Horse Dam) as GSM 1000 from 1948 to 1953 - sold to the Willamina & Grand Rhonde RR, which became the Longview, Portland & Northern in 1955 - became Longview Portland and Northern #1001 - scrapped by 1975 |
