CP MLW RS23 Units
All photos were generously submitted by Brian Nicholson

This classic RS23 was one of the first color shots I ever took.
Photo'd Apr '74 at Cote St. Luc yard in Montreal. From series 8013-8046 built in 1959.
The chunky roadswitcher was found in many assignments in eastern Canada.
All sold or retired by 1997.

The only shot I have of a consist of 3 RS23's in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1982.
The RS23's were known for overheating when used as trailing units
because of the lack of air through the radiator at speed.

An RS23 at work in Ville Lasalle, Montreal in 1986.
These units and the S13's were the only 251 powered switchers MLW produced.
