These photos, taken in a 1980's, capture the changing face of railroading in north east.
It was a time when the great railroads, NYC, PRR, LV, EL, Reading etc. were gone
but still could be seen in the colors and switchers in these photos. This was
also the end of many of these switchers as Conrail would scrap
the older models and non EMD units. It was also the beginning of conglomerate railroad
uniformity were everything was either Conrail Blue, NS black or CSX gray.
