Northshore Mining Switchers

    Northshore Mining, which originally operated as the Reserve Mining Company, operates a 47 mile long rail line from the mine at Babbitt MN to the Silver Bay processing facilities located on the Minnesota north shore of Lake Superior.

    SW9 #1211, August 1996.
    #1211 was traded for an SW1000 (#1214) in the summer of 1999.
    It is now down in Iowa, in the Trans Global Inc. leasing fleet.

    SW1200 #1212, October 7, 1999.
    #1212 was called to mile 6 from its usual Silver Bay switching chores, to help
    push the tailings train, which stalled on the hill, up to the milepost 7 branch line.
