    Number 100 was the prototype for the DT6-6-2000. It was build to the specifications of the EJ&E and placed in service on May 13, 1946.
    - weight 363,300 lbs.
    - length 70’-6”
    - starting tractive effort 108,000 lbs.
    - cost $173,000
    Unlike production DT6-6-2000 units #100 was powered by twin 608NA diesels and had no crossover walkways at each end.
    A production demonstrator was built in 1948. It was numbered 2000, painted gray and two-tone blue and nicknamed “Bluebird”.
