Baldwin S8 Cow-Calf

    A total of nine S8 cow-calf units were built for Oliver Iron Mining in 1951-52.
    Some of these units were acquired by US Steel and scraped in 1983, see below.

    Scrapline Photos

    "US Steel acquired 5 S8A cow and 6 S8B calves back in 1980 plus some other ex-Oliver Mining switchers.
    Some were used for parts, some saw service. My shots were taken in 1983 when they were scrapping most of
    the FM's and Baldwins. I was able to get shots of the scrapline with a 400mm and 200mm lens (as security
    was VERY tight there) from a public road."
