The morning overcast began to clear, so I then headed to the north end of Hines yard where I caught the arrival of the UP local.

The UP local arrives at Hines
After ten minutes of rather vigorous switching on the part of both crews, the UP local headed up to Burns to turn on the wye, while the ONW crew put their train together and did their air test. The UP local returned from Burns with but a single car, and headed east to get their ONW pickup at the south end of the yard.

Getting the train to Seneca together
The #4 wound up with a decent five car train of empties being topped off by ONW's picturesque ex- N&W wood caboose. This was destined to be the last complete ONW train north to Seneca.
