Terminal & Switching Railroads

Nowhere is the switcher's impact on the industry more apparent than on the various 'Terminal Railroads' whichhandle the classification and transfer of goods between railroads in major U.S. cities. These switching railroads
are usually jointly owned by the railroads that use them and handle all transfers between major yards.
The following are a few examples of these types of railroads that are truly 'switcher heaven'!
